This was my first wedding at Omaha’s Oak Hills country Club. From a photographer’s view point the club has many nice picture locations both inside and out. I loved the open area of the dining room. The place has tons of beautiful indoor lighting.
This was also an outdoor wedding, which can either be easy or hard depending on the weather. It was overcast during the wedding, so it was easy. One of the things I enjoy most about outdoor weddings is being able to photograph the people coming to the wedding. I can get some exquisite candids of them when they are entering the wedding area. It was just a beautiful day for a wedding.
Talk about a nice couple. The beautiful bride Jess was a joy to photograph. She never stressed, at least she never showed it. Her and her bride’s maids were just fun to be around.
The groom, Nick, was very easy, I had all the grooms and groomsmen pictures done in about five minutes start to finish. I photographed Nick by some trees and then a fence, and the groomsmen and best man next to some trees and an open sky. All of these locations were next to each other so we did not travel far.
One of the things I did do differently was an afterglow session. Afterglow pictures are images of just the bride and groom the day after the wedding taken at sunset. Omaha has some nice locations for these images, but during the day they look so simple. It’s when the sunset is when these locations glow with color. I have to be honest with anyone reading this and say that the bride and groom have very striking profiles, which made my job look easy.
I wish Jess and Nick, all the happiness in the world, and I’m sure they’ll live happily ever after.
